About Agape

Ian Masson, MS, LPC

I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Virginia. I graduated with a master’s in clinical psychology from the Institute of Psychological Sciences, now Divine Mercy University, in 2013.

In my work in community mental health and as a previous director of the IPS center at Divine Mercy University, I have come to see relationship as a key factor in helping clients to flourish. This might look like a child growing in connection with their parents and peers through play therapy, couples and family members developing greater love and understanding for each other, or even an individual cultivating a healthy internal connection with their own thoughts and feelings. In all my approaches, I seek to cultivate an attitude of curiosity and acceptance to facilitate growth and healing. In doing so, the factors that are preventing healthy interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships are removed to allow a greater gift of self.

Much of the preparation I have received has trained me in interventions focused on the counselor/client bond and the client's connection with others. These include a certificate in Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), a certificate in Relationship Enhancement® (RE) for couples and families, a certificate in Filial Family Therapy (FFT), and training in Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Jacqueline Nicole
Masson, MA

I am the current business manager for Agape Counseling & Consulting. I received my training from the Institute for the Psychological Sciences and graduated with my master’s in counseling from Liberty University in 2018.

My passion for helping people in the healing process motivated me to work with my husband to found Agape. Most of my time is dedicated to raising my family, as I am a mother of 6 children under the age of 12. Currently, I enjoy using my training to help them grow and develop. Now, I am excited to begin a new venture to use my skills and training to help other people take the steps toward healing and thriving.
